Girl with a pearl Earring1
Griet is a young 16 year old girl, who has been sent to go be a maid for the vermeers, as her father lost his job as he got blind through a work accident. She is polite and understanding, she will do what she is told to do. The work that she has to do is very hard for her, she doesnt like doing all this hard work but still accepts the jobs and completes them, even though she hurst herself by burning herself and getting blisters.
Griet is the kind of girl i imagined in vermeers painting as she looks like a poor young girl, who looked scared.
Hi Melisssa, interesting post about the girl with the pearl earring painting. Do you think she is polite and does what she is told. I think she is strong and does what she decides to do. She decides to help Vermeer even though she knew it would get her in trouble. She moves the cloth while he was painting soemthing even though she’s been told not to, but she does look as though she’d be a quiet girl who makes no trouble – or does she???
